What the Percentages Mean
A percentage is the chance of hail occurring within five miles during the specified timeframe. Low is not "will not occur." High is not "guaranteed."
Dashboard
- At a Glance shows the current weather and short-term forecast for your primary location.
- Location cards show the thunderstorm risk and severe hail risk for the specified timeframe. Tap any location card to open its forecast. Sort the list by Alerts, T-Storm, or Severity; your choice is remembered on the device you are using.
Forecast Screen
- The ★ in the header makes this your primary location — the one At a Glance follows. The pencil edits it. A point picked from the map shows a save button instead; use it to keep that spot as a location.
- The whole screen follows one selected time period. Tap an outlook day to jump to it, or step with the timeline arrows under the chart. The map follows the same selection.
- The 1hr / 3hr / 6hr / 12hr buttons set how wide that time period is.
- The chart area has more than hail: on small screens, you can switch between charts for Temperature, Winds, Cloud Cover, and more. When viewing the Hail Risk chart, you can switch between a line chart and a bar chart.
- Outlook cards show the longer term forecast and can be pressed to select their respective timespan. Some cards will show an icon or two beneath the temperature, which indicate significant precipitation chances or strong winds. Outlook cards for overnight periods show the low temperature on the right side of the card, whereas other cards show the high temperature.
Map
- If you have access to the interactive map feature, you can tap anywhere on the map to create a new map point. This location is also added to the sorted location list. You can view the forecast for the point like any other location.
- Selecting different layers may change what timeframes are able to be displayed on the map. Your layer choice is persisted between sessions on your device, including the time window.
- Some layers, like the hail and thunderstorm risk layers, have a "Time Window" option displayed above the time selector at the bottom of the map. This changes the timespan that is displayed: a time window of 6hr might display the risk between 1pm and 7pm, whereas a time window of 1hr might display the risk between 6pm and 7pm.
- The time window and currently displayed timespan are shared with the forecast screen and location list: you are always viewing the same risk data whether you change the timespan on the map or on the forecast screen. The timespan is also consistent as you navigate between screens.
- You can "pin" the current layer () which prevents it from changing as you navigate through various screens of the app.
Alerts
- Watch — elevated risk of hail in the area.
- Warning — hail is imminent or occurring.
Alerts come in two categories: severe hail (0.75″+) and all hail (0.25″+). Notifications are sent when an alert is issued, upgraded, downgraded, cancelled, or expired.

Outlook digests
- An outlook summarizes risk potential over the longer forecast period — a digest emails you that summary on a schedule.
- Set the schedule under Digest Schedule (add one or more rules).
- Pick outlook types the same way as alert hail sizes.

Troubleshooting & FAQ
Why am I not seeing alerts for a location?
Check, in order:
- No alert has been issued there — no risk, no alert.
- The location was just created; alerts apply going forward.
- The alert types or hail sizes you expect aren't enabled (Account → Weather Alerts).
- The location itself is disabled in Weather Alerts.
- Your subscription plan was cancelled or expired, causing you to lose access to the location.
- Email channel: messages may be in spam — allowlist the sender.
- Push channel: notification permission may be denied at the OS level — see Push notifications above.
- You're signed into a different account than the one with the location.
You showed a 10% chance of hail, and it hailed.
A 10% chance still hails one time in ten.
Can I use my account on other devices?
Yes. One account works on the web, iPhone, and Android. Sign in anywhere; locations and alerts follow the account.
What area do forecasts cover?
The continental United States, southern Canada, and northern Mexico.
How far ahead do forecasts go, and how often do they update?
Hourly resolution extends out to 72 hours, depending on your plan. The model updates every few minutes, using the latest radar, satellite, and observation data.
Why did the forecast change since I last looked?
New atmospheric data arrived and the risk was recalculated.
How do I change or cancel my plan?
Your Account → Plan and Billing. Subscriptions bought in the mobile app are managed through the App Store or Google Play.
Why can't I add more locations?
Location count is set by your plan. Upgrade the plan or remove a location you no longer need.
What happens to my locations if I cancel or downgrade my plan?
Your locations are still saved, but become locked. Locked locations do not receive alerts, and you cannot view their forecast. You can still delete locked locations.
